32nd SS-Freiwilligen-Grenadier-Division
Rolf Michaelis
The SS Division “30. Januar” was one of the last SS-Divisions formed during World War II and was almost entirely composed of training units and 16-18 year old boys (the honorary name “30. Januar” was the same date Hitler became Reich chancellor in 1933). First planned as a motorized division, the unit ended up as a normal infantry division because of a lack of fuel. With a final strength of 12,000, they fought on the Oder-front south of Frankfurt/Oder. After the Soviet attack on 16 April 1945 they were wiped out in the pocket of Halbe southeast of Berlin. 128pp. 80 photos

Bayerlein also wrote several comparisons of his Panzers – Tigers and Panthers – with other armoured vehicles, including Russian and American armour. This in-depth analysis, long hidden in boxes in the National Archives and Records Administration, is presented. Bayerlein also wrote several comparisons of his Panzers, Tigers and Panthers, with other armoured vehicles, including Russian and American armour. FOR REX AND BELGIUM Leon Degrelle & Walloon Political & Military Collaboration 1940/45
Eddy De Bruyne & Marc Rikmemspoel
"Degrelle" remains controversial in Belgium and abroad. Reviled by many, honoured by others, Leon Degrelle's service in the German military continues to spawn controversy. Now, with the aid of American Waffen-SS researcher Marc Rikmenspoel, De Bruyne has combined his works into a single English language book.
The greatest portion of the book is devoted to the most comprehensive account of the campaigns of the Legion Wallonie and its successor SS-Sturmbrigade/Division Wallonien (28th SS Panzergrenadier Division) yet seen in English. These units saw action in some of the bitterest sectors of the Eastern Front from 1942 to 1945, including the Caucasus, Cherkassy, the Baltic and Pomerania. The author’s present fascinating information about Degrelle’s Spanish volunteers and obscure Walloon military formations. The text is supported by hundreds of period photos, complemented by many maps and illustrations of contemporary posters and other ephemera. This is the most impartial and deeply-researched study concerning his life and actions yet to appear in any language. 300pp. 375 photos, maps & documents. LARGE FORMAT

From Retreat To Defeat: The Last Years Of The German Army On The Eastern Front 1943/45 A Photographic History
Ian Baxter
A unique insight into the last desperate years of the German Army at war on the Eastern Front 1943-45. On the vast steppes of the Soviet Union, it describes how the German Army together with the elite mountain troops and Luftwaffe field divisions played a decisive role in trying to stem the rout along the disintegrating front lines. Those German forces that survived the artillery barrages, the onslaught of the tank armadas, and mass infantry assaults, streamed back from the battlefield and fought vicious battles through the Baltic states, Byelorussia, and built up new defences along the Vistula in Poland. As the final months of the war were played out on the Eastern Front it depicts how the German Army, with diminishing resources, withdrew across a devastated Reich and fought out the last battles with party militia forces around a bombed and blasted Berlin. Drawing on previously rare and unpublished photographs with in-depth captions, the book provides an absorbing analysis of this traumatic period of the war. 160 pages c 190 photos. Large format

Hold the Westwall or perish with it. The History of Panzer-Brigade 105 – September 1944
Timm Haasler Hold the Westwall tells the story of an experiment that failed. The creation of separate armoured brigades within the Panzertruppe in 1944. Formed at the direction of Hitler in response to the dramatic situation that was developing on the Eastern Front in the summer of 1944, the brigades, 10 in all were to be a form of field-army-level ready reserve and strike force. These brigades, which featured a tank battalion, a mechanized infantry battalion, a company of mechanized combat engineers as well as a substantial amount of organic antiaircraft firepower, could have been the “iron fist” envisioned by Hitler had they not been so hastily formed and then committed in ways never doctrinally called for.
This book represents the first study in English of this failed experiment, concentrating on the formation, deployment, virtual destruction and ultimate deactivation of Panzer-Brigade 105. Instead of being deployed on the Eastern Front as originally intended, the brigade was rushed to the West to the increasingly perilous and unstable situation there for the Germans in the fall of 1944. 592 pages, 147 photographs, 22 maps and extensive charts and documentation

Horses of the German Army in WWll. Superb photos men & equipment
Paul Louis Johnson
Volumes have been written on the equipment of the German Army of World War II, including tanks, trucks, motorcycles, weapons, and personal equipment, but little has been written on the horses that made up 80% of its transportation. Horses pulled everything an army needed in the field by wagon or on its back and more horses were used in World War II than in any other war in history. . If one really means to understand the performance and tactics of the Wehrmacht in World War II, one must understand the horse and its logistic requirements. Also, this book presents one of the most comprehensive photo collections of the men and equipment of the horse-mounted troops. 240pp. over 500 b/w & colour photos. Large format

THE COMBAT HISTORY OF SCHWERE PANZER ABTEILUNG 507, In Action in the East and West with Tiger I and Tiger II
A collaborative effort by members of the former battalion and edited by Helmut Schneider.
Schwere Panzer-Abteilung 507 was formed in late 1943 using cadre provided from Panzer-Regiment 4 of the 13. Panzer-Division. In early 1944, it was sent to the Eastern Front, where it successfully participated in a number of defensive efforts as a mobile “fire brigade.” In early 1945, it was sent to Paderborn for reconstitution. There it was being refitted with the Tiger II, when it was hastily attached to SS-Panzer-Brigade “Westfalen” for the defense of the Paderborn area. After losing the remainder of its tanks to combat activity or their forced transfer to SS forces, the battalion moved to Czechoslovakia, where it was again issued combat vehicles, including the Hetzer tank destroyer.
